Statue of Master Zhiyi (or Zhizhe), founder of the Tiantai Sect for which he was also called Dashi Tiantai. This photo was taken at Guoqing Temple, Zhejiang, which was built at the base of Mount Tiantai as his last wish. His pagoda stands inside a small hall farther up the mountain.
